§ 8-308. Duty of health officer; noncompliance with order of health officer.

  • It shall be the duty of the health officer to make an inspection of the methods of disposal of human excreta at least once each year. Written or verbal notification on any violation of this chapter shall be given by the health officer to the person responsible under this chapter for the correction of the condition, and correction shall be made within fifteen (15) days after notification. If the health officer advises any person that the disposal of human excreta made by the person constitutes an immediate and serious menace to health, the person shall at once take steps to remove the menace, and failure to remove the menace immediately shall constitute a misdemeanor. The person shall be allowed the number of days herein provided within which to make permanent correction.
