§ 4-509. Gas and plumbing board; function, organization.

  • The [gas and plumbing] board shall consist of five (5) members: the building official, who shall serve as chairman, the gas inspector, or his designated representative, the plumbing inspector and two (2) certified and properly insured city plumbing contractors appointed by the mayor and confirmed by a majority vote of the city council. The term of the appointed members shall be three (3) years, except that the initial individual appointments to the board shall be terms of one, two (2) and three (3) years. Vacancies for unexpired terms shall be filled by appointment of the mayor and confirmation of the city council. The board shall meet on call of the chairman as often as occasion may demand.

Ordinance No. 39-1994-95, adopted December 7, 1994, deleted § 4-509 in its entirety and renumbered §§ 4-510—4-513 as §§ 4-508—4-511. Formerly, § 4-509 pertained to the plumbing inspector's right of admission to premises and derived from § 7-102 of the 1963 Code.
